FYP Cultural Ambassadors and Parangal Dance Company presents

Cultural Connections: A Weekend of Identity and Inspiration

DAY 2: "Pangalay Ha Baluy" - The Woven Mat Dance

Join us in our continued journey through Filipino culture, ethnic identity, and folk dance as we learn the Pangalay Ha Bulay, or the woven mat dance! Guided by Philippine dance and culture practitioner Don Aguillo, this workshop will explore the principles of Pangalay dance with the use of the "Baluy" or woven mat! Not only will you learn the elegant dance movements featured in Pangalay, you'll also be able to appreciate the intricate design and masterful weaving of the Tausug mats.

This is a FREE event and open to anyone interested! Please RSVP as space is limited.

*Day 1 Registrations can be found here. Please note Day 1 and Day 2 will be held at different times and locations.*

This event is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
